and the weiner is: elizabeth from 'oh fransson!'...yay! {she's the inventor of that nifty little doorstop tutorial i want to try asap. i'm guessing our brooklyn loft will definately need to have cute doorstops hanging around...}
anyway, it IS a patchwork scarf. i've seen these things all over the crafty blog community lately and i wanted to try my own sans pattern. so i did and it was so simple. it still needs all the finishing stitched BUT priorities, priorities {you know, the BIG MOVE, are you sick of hearing about it yet?}. the back is a recycled old blanket that is so soft and warm. i can't wait to make another! these will definately make the cut for homemade christmas gifts next year, or is it too early to start thinking about next christmas?
so thanks for playing everyone! elizabeth, email me at tinkerellen@yahoo.com with your shipping info please....

it's not all sewing and crafting, you know.
here's a logo for our upcoming snow camp. i really like this one. we're going with a boot camp theme so i wanted the shirts to look army-ish. i think i did ok, hopefully the kids like them. so next weekend we'll be trying to stay warm while sledding and tubing and generally smashing each others faces in the snow....if we get any by then.

crafty listy
chenille baby bibs
coffee cozies
water bottle carrier
patchwork coasters
rice heat therapy bags
patchwork door stop
new you new do.
ok, i know i'll regret posting 8 pictures of my pale mug as soon as i hit the 'post entry' button, but i'll have to get over it.
i want a new look. i love number 4 but it'll take about 3 years to get there. i also love number 2 but i have no idea how to get that look beside employing a stylist to arrive at my house every morning before i head to work. which is pretty much not an option considering i live in the land of overalls, oh, and i'm not disgustingly rich.
anyway, what do you think? should i suck it up and keep growing the mop on my head until i can actually make an honest-to-goodness ponytail, or should i dare to be spicey like posh?

sit up straight!
it feels like spring, no?
busy busy over here. more people looking at the house, more boxes ready for storage and more clothes and shoes donated to happy loving friends! potential buyer for the subaru and oh yeah, i have scoliosis. so it's frequent visits to the chiropractor for the next month or so. in the meantime, there'll be less bending over the sewing machine for me. too bad i just ordered 'bend the rules sewing'. ironic, don't you think?

organized. sort of.
but my favorite most ingenius list would have to be the 'bin catalog list'. this is where i'll catalog everything in a storage bin and assign that bin a number. that way i can easily locate a stored connecticut item from my cozy leetle couch in nyc at a glance. is that not brilliant?!? yeah. i thought so too.

a leetle shop update!
but i'm really excited about it because i'm putting some tissue holders up for sale! i really love mine and i'm glad i figured out a better way to make them. speaking of, i'll have a tutorial for sale in the shop soon as well, then you can make them for every single person you know.
because everyone needs one. seriously. {and i'll be giving a tutorial away to one lucky weiner. or maybe two...}
so check it yo.le shop.
and now back to your regularly scheduled life
lots of good times with family and friends and you know what, not that many pictures! i vowed this trip to spend less time behind the camera and more time taking mental pictures. i got to chill with the infamous logorrhea. spent most of the morning trying to track down a fabric store which we eventually did, spent lots of christmas money there and then finished it all off with some delicious pizza. {we missed you sarah!}
didn't go to brooklyn like we wanted to, but i think we've narrowed down where we want to live, well, sort of. did i tell you we have to move by the end of march? so basically we have lots to do. lots. and lots and lots. and then lots more.
here's to 2008, may you be our busiest, craziest funnest year yet.
