the one, the awesome, the stamped shirt

here's one of the fun projects i came up with this weekend. it kind of developed off my screen-printing attempt. i picked up some fabric paint at the sto', they had colors other than black, and the colors can be mixed to customize whatever color you're looking for. then i grabbed my clear stamps which you all know i adore {even more now}. i spread the fabric paint out on some plastic {the backs from the stamps worked great}, pressed my stamp in the paint and then pressed onto the sleeve of my 4 dollar old navy tee.

after 5 minutes setting iron time, i threw this baby in the wash and it came out swimmingly. highly recommend this project based on it's ease of use, ability to spice up the ugliest of boring clothes, and it's general awesomeness. {if you guys have any questions let me have 'em.}

greetings from snowy syracuse!

ah, i'm back. no not back from vacation but it feels like it. minus the tan and the kitsch postcards. i spent the weekend experimenting with a couple of crafty projects and spending money at the outlets {while my husband was busy buying a 50" plasma tv that we so don't need but i heart a 32" mcdreamy}. yesterday my husband treated me to some spa treatments so i feel all pretty today. i'm even wearing nail polish. it's like i'm living in a parallel universe and my evil twin is sexy.

i did take some photos of my recent creativity, and i even took them step by step. it's so easy a caveman could do it. i screenprinted a couple of t-shirts and then i discovered stamping them! it's pure magic. well if magic was turning old navy basic cheap tees into fabulous works of fabric art. i'll list all the details in the next post...

more organization. we all know i love it. this is a little glimpse of where i'll be spending most of my weekend. hopefully creating some awesome cards for all you ladies along with some baby gifts and miscellaneous gifts which i cannot yet reveal. i plan to give screenprinting a try if the supplies aren't all that expensive and i might just pull out the sewing machine and throw together a couple of cute bags. ah, so much to do, so little weekend.

this little guy. in keeping with my bird fetish as of late. maybe he'll grace some of the forthcoming cards. and maybe i'll stop talking like this full stop.

now's as bad a time as any

my poor friend krista has lost both her grandpa's in one week. so the florida trip must be post-poned. the bikini must once again be stored in the dark box in the closet. and the snow is once again falling. this may be one very, very long weekend. but not as long as krista's.

so here's an easier better plan. we all make a set of 2-4 cards {depending on how many people sign up. oh just put down the freaking knitting sticks for two seconds and stamp a card or buy some} and send out to whoever wants to participate. and just for fun i'm going to throw in sending a muzak CD to everyone as well.

again, you can add comments like "would love some techno music to beat my head against the wall to" or "need thank you cards out the butt.." or "will swap for john denver". i'll asign an "in the mail by" date {which won't be too soon, trust me} and send out a list of participating mailing addresses. econtact me at tinkerellen@yahoo.com.

sitcom turned twisted horror flick

i couldn't be more excited. except i came to a horrible realization yesterday. my flight is friday at 6am, which means i have to be at the airport at 5am, which means i have to get up at 4am-ish. which means i must go to bed at about 8pm. which means...wait for it....NO. GREY's. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh.

clear stamps that is. and i'm really excited about my weekend find. these little babies are a dollar a piece. one dollar! i've loved her stamps and wanted to buy the pack for months but it's a whopping 30 bucks! and all i really wanted was a couple of them. so i love this option of buying them individually. so does my allowance. i found them at jo-anns, they're autumn leaves by rhonna farrer. buy them. they rock. if you've never used clear stamps, start. they make everything better.
