time for the lasts
tonight will probably be the last time all the girls get together and hang out. everyone's always so busy that it take a major event in someone's lives to get us all to make plans together. tragic really. BUT it's a good excuse to semi-splurge.
saturday is our last early marriage event through the church, a sort of sending away mixed with uber-good food and board games {we're so lame, things you didn't even know about us..}.

sticky situations
i really really love the idea of these little rings BUT i need to find a more permanent way to adhere them to the base ring. any suggestions?
i think i'll try hot glue this weekend. {the permanent glass/metal surface adhesive i bought isn't cutting it for active hands...} if that dosn't work i'm going to have to hit up the supply store and try to find a knowledgable saleperson...
oh and it's still snowing, day 3. we're up to 94" for this season so far, and the good news is we're in the lead for the golden snowball award. i know, you were all worried...
second to last day of work....

all natural grays
are now gone thanks to some all natural hair dye. seriously, this stuff is great and it doesn't stink or stain everything in sight.
in my quest for the ever elusive poytail i discover i'm only and inch or two away. i will strut down fifth in summer garb complete with summer hair. i will.
and mom, i'm sucking in my cheeks here, attempting my best pouty model pose. i did not, i repeat, i did not lose weight.

recycled grocery bags
so i had a bunch of too-small tshirts that i didn't know who to give to. now that my cousin is temporarily bigger than me {haha jen haha} i'll have to find another use for my shrunk cotton clothes.
so here it is, a bunch of shopping bags! cool, no? of course, i don't know how they'll hold up on an actual shopping trip, but i have high hopes for them. plus, they're just cute. i just turned them inside out, stitched the botton closed and cut off the sleeves.
what are you reusing these days?

yoda le hee who?
so now that i'm 30, i decided to start dressing like i'm 9. seriously though, pigtails is the only way i can get my hair out of my face at this point. i like that it makes me feel like i should be in lederhosen yodeling off a snowy Alp.
ok, so shop news is that i'll be pulling inventory at the end of this month in order to get ready for our move. if march is more productive than i think, i may have some gretta bags here and there but other than that i'll be concentrating on more priority things, like, you know, finding a place to live.
career news is that i've finally claimed my domain and am presently working on a portfolio site. not to be confused with the portfolio site i've been meaning to finish from 2 years ago. it's still not finished but i did manage to get a link to my resume uploaded lastnight, so check it out if you've got absolutely nothing better to do: cherilehnow {pretty sweet right?}
and finally general news: grandma's out of the hospital, yay. jennifer won't call me back now that she has a tiny being stuck to her breasts all day. our house is hopefully on the verge of being sold, cross my fingers and my pigtails. and i'm done with work next friday. wow. can this year fly by fast enough or what?

picture pages picture pages lots of fun with...
nobody likes posts without pictures right? so here's a bunch for your eye candy viewing pleasure along with a general overview of the uber-exciting weekend.
saturday morning we touched-up some paint, cleaned the entire house and got all ready for a couple of showings. then a friend and i headed out to this shop {half-hour drive in the middle of nowehere}: patchwork plus.
and here's my review: TOTALLY worth the drive. they had several prints i was looking at online AND a bunch more that i loved including some hard-to-find amy butler charm. the store itself is massive and has two bathrooms, which is great when one really has to pee {because she's still massively hydrating herself trying to kick this cold} and the other is occupied. they have classes as well though i don't know that i'll have time to get one in before we move.
as you can see, these shots are just of a couple of corners of the shop {the owner was sweet enough to let me take a couple of pictures}, massive amounts of fabric... if you're ever around this area i highly recommend it. {and up the road a few more miles is a cozy little lake town called skaneatles where big wigs come to vacation.} luckily i didn't go too crazy, but i'll plan on going back next month before we move away forever. oh well, nyc's sure to have a fabric store or two, no?
after the fabric grab, we headed to lake town for some delicious pasta at this place. yum, leftovers for dinner after the open house, which was pretty successful. we have a few interested buyers for our house and hope to get something concrete soon!!
look at all these great fabrics i took home! {are you jealous of my flea market fancy, i know you are...}

becoming jane
well, now that i've watched this flick, i've added 'persuasion' and 'mansfield park' to my netflix cue and i'm finally going to read p&p sometime this weekend {it's been sitting in my bookshelf for a while now}. after that i'll more than likely try reading through her other novels and maybe even focus more on 'darcy & elizabeth: days and nights at pemberly', of course, not written by austen but a juicy and romantic continuation of p&p's characters and story lines. i highly recommend it if, like me, the end of p&p left you longing for more darcy.
i'm officially obsessed.

super baby blankie
i feel like this should be a cape attached to super baby maddy! the other side is a light blue minky, so soft...
so it's not really a surprise jen, but the rest of the box will be.
PS: sorry about the pink, but come on, she's got to have SOME pink in her life.

when it rains, it blizzards
my grandmother was rushed to the hospital last night, severely dehydrated, hopefully it's just a cold/resp infection keeping her down.
j and i are both sick {hopefully NOT the flu, prob just a resp infection...} AND we got the family we're staying with sick {poor little kenzie}. we feel terrible about it.

hello web world
pray for us, j's father passed away friday so we hopped in the car on saturday and it's been a whirlwind since. it's obviously a sad time for him and us and the family but we're doing ok now that the big stuff is over. oh, and a huge thank you for all the kind emails from those who already knew.
and pray for cousin jen! although i don't have details, baby maddy was born this past sunday so jen's a new mom with lots and lots of new responsibilties.
ok, i'll be back to the norm soon. eh, probably not.
