loads and loads

IMG_4647_laundry.jpg

So since you guys are so awesome at giving opinions {I'm definitely painting the mirror red thank you all very much...} I was wondering if you think I should add another shelf up there. I know it would be great for more cleaning supplies storage but I don't know if it would be too difficult to reach everything? And would it look too cluttered?

  1. i would say it depends on what your storage situation is. i know i could definitely use an extra shelf in the laundry room, so if it were me, in my current house, i would. and i would only put the stuff that i very rarely use, you know? so i'm not always having to climb a mountain to get to it. :)

  2. it doesn't need a shelf to look complete, but if you think you might ned the space then that's a whole other story.

  3. I'm of the personal opinion that you can never have too much storage and will never regret having it there. Go for it! A small folded stepstool tucked against the wall should make it easy enough to reach anything you might need up there. I use the upper shelves in our laundry for storing lightbulbs, batteries for the smoke detectors, surplus (stockpiled) detergent, etc.

  4. To keep things within reach, you could lower the shelf slightly (while still having clearance for the washer lid to open fully) and then put in a 2nd shelf above that one. We did that in our pantry and it worked beautifully!
