this pastry and ice cream shop (and smallish dinner and breakfast menu) is such a great place in our neighborhood (court street across from cobble hill theatre).
we had a fun thursday night, it was weekend material mid-week. first we met a friend of j's from work, went to the chip shop for some fish and chips and then to sweet mellisa's for some dessert. it's a bit of a hike from our apartment, especially in chilly weather like this BUT it was well worth it. the bread pudding is AWEsome. anyway, i grabbed a pic of this little corner of the shop (which is very martha stewartesque in general). i loved this table and the mix of black with brown wooden stools. it was very cozy and inviting, it made me want to host dinner parties in my made-up apartment in my imagination. (sorry about the bad pic but i didn't want to ruin the mood with a flash and well, i can't stay perfectly still for 3 seconds so the tabletop it was.)
oh! and they have their own cookbook with recipes for all the desserts they serve! cool right? so the next visitors we have will be subject to delicious desserts. i hope they won't be too upset.
I MISS MY KITCHENAID MIXER!
ReplyDeleteI thought this was going to be about me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute place! Do they have cheesecake? That is my weakness! I'm assuming you bought one of their recipe books? Any good cheesecake recipes in there? If so, you know where to send 'em!
ReplyDeleteoooooooohhh, can't wait to try that place!! it looks so warm in cozy in the pic. we'll have to figure out a time when we can make it there to see you guys soon:)
ReplyDeletejen - i wish i had one! although, the 8yr wedding gift is appliances, so i've thrown a few hints out there...
ReplyDeletedaisy - i didn't buy a cookbook while i was there but i don't think the store's going anywhere so there's always next time.
