NOW- that said - your taste is a lot more modern than mine, so if you do decide to paint it, I would use a softer color than white. The texture will be a focal point, so keep it closer to the wall color- maybe a glaze of your taupe over the brick?Michellenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7985086.post-7430455107704218252010-09-16T09:09:39.140-04:002010-09-16T09:09:39.140-04:00I tend to paint everything, and am not overly fond...I tend to paint everything, and am not overly fond of plain brick. I've seen that give a nice facelift and it's a more sophisticated feel than plain brick. depends on the look you are going for, tho, and your budget. plain brick can be very charming.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7985086.post-89538155435289174382010-09-15T10:23:34.010-04:002010-09-15T10:23:34.010-04:00i personally like the brick, if it were cleaned up...i personally like the brick, if it were cleaned up a bit. it seems like on a lot of the home improvement shows i watch, people spend a lot of time taking off paint that a previous owner put on brick, and it always looks better when it's the plain brick.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16790873407769421892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7985086.post-64792947104942866272010-09-15T09:10:55.766-04:002010-09-15T09:10:55.766-04:00The white fireplace would look nice in white, just...The white fireplace would look nice in white, just soften the white by using something other than bright white... and use a lighter khaki, the softer will be more comforting to the eye...
